My 3 year old male Bob was diagnosed with insulinoma about 1-1/2 yrs ago and has had 2 surgery's one in 12/03 one in 6/04, since the second surgery he has been on pediapred about 1 cc a day. He seems to be sleeping a lot more recently. With regards to checking his blood glucose, what are the benefits of doing this ? I usually can tell by the way he acts if he needs some protein to pick up his blood glucose. I come home every day at lunch and give him his soup mixture to be sure he eats. Im not sure what would I do different if I were to check his blood and find it low. Wouldnt I just give him his meds or soup?
I am just trying to understand this disease and how to do the best thing for Bob.
