Is this red blood or is it digested blood (feces black or sometimes very dark green)?

If it is red your vet will look from problems affecting the lower GI tract: the colon, the anus, etc. Has there been pus or a lot of mucus? Is there a fever? Has the ferret had a problem with severe anemia, or with a severe allergic reaction?

Tarry feces indicates bleeding higher up in the digestive tract, such as happens with an ulcer.
