Subject: Surgery costs

What are the average costs of adrenal surgeries around the country? I would be
curious to know, since my vet has gone up over $100 since our last surgery. He's a
very good vet, but this is getting to be expensive. I'll probably find out that I've been
getting off cheap, lol.

I know that estimates can vary greatly in price because of the infinite variations
involved, but our basic adrenal (without histopath, no overnight stay) here at a
managed clinic is between $500-600. Actually, without our vet giving us somwhat
of a break, it would be closer to $600-700. I know other places charge much more,
but I would be interested in seeing the pricing around the country. Is there a place I
can look it up on the web? How about you guys? What have you been charged (or for
the vets, charge)?

Alot of our vets have been joining a managing network. It seems that the
corporations have been getting their foot in the door, as we have no longer have any
independant ferret docs in town (that I know of). Is this a country-wide trend?
