I have just heard from Dr. Ramsell who is researching medical approaches that in fact both POSSIBLE survivors of DIM/mystery disease LACKED THE NEEDED PATHOLOGY TO KNOW IF THIS IS REALLY WHAT THEY HAD. I am putting in this post to update my post of yesterday and am emphasizing the lack of testing because the treatments used for each have not so far worked for any others, also the treatment which gave one (with a proven case of the disease) a hiatus has not worked for any others.

In a day or more there may be some more to add to help people better understand.

Those who look through past FHLs will notice that there have been some ferrets who turned out to have other causes for their illness once the needed testing was done. You will find at least one case of each meningitis and canine distemper. Multiple cases that turned out to be Juvenile Lymphoma will be found. Other causes of sepsis will show up. Sometimes it may walk like a duck and talk like a duck but not be one.
