I'm looking for some opinions and input.

I got Missy in October. Her previous owner said she was 8 y.o., though we think she may be a tad bit younger. Missy was definitely adrenal. The top of her head was completely bald, like a monk with a fringe of hair around the bald spot. She also had a very swollen vulva. Missy had never been to the vet in her entire life.

Given her age and no vet records, I decided to use Lupron with her, rather than risk surgery. We gave her a 4 month, 1mg injection in November. I supplemented her with liquid melatonin for about 90 days. Her appearance changed dramatically. Her fur grew back in and is now soft and plush. Her vulva shrunk to nearly perfect size. It is still a very tiny bit swollen. We gave a second injection (4 month, 1mg) in March. She still looks wonderful, has good activity, good weight, eats well, good poop, the works.

My question is whether to continue the 4 month Lupron injections. I am a firm believer in sticking to a schedule to prevent the ups and downs that can occur. But, she is doing so well physically and cosmetically, I am wondering if we have given her the jump-start she needs to continue to feel well. I have no objection to continuing the 4 month injections, but wonder if we really need to.

Any and all opinions are welcomed.
