BTW, I have found that vets are usually GOOD at knowing how to respond to an anaphylactic reaction but there can be exceptions. That confidence can be better placed in emergency room physicians for humans now than a few years ago. A few years ago a study found that a large percentage (something like a 1/4 or a 1/3 didn't know about how essential epi is. Ever since then I tend to feel inclined to remind folks about it.

The chances are that the reason you didn't mention it is just because it was peripheral to your topic, and the whole experience was a terrible one. Those reactions are terrible ot see, and losing one is worse. (We lost Shermie to an anaphylatic reaction to Amoxi. I've never heard of another ferret having that reaction to that med, but due to his IBD he'd had a lot of it in his lifetime.)

Anyway, when we have had to assess vets to see if we would use them, one of the things we have asked about has been response to anaphylactic reactions.

Oh, and I'm a bit "off" today so realize that I am not as sharp as my usual and not expressing myself as well as usual today, please. Add the grain of salt for that to the one for my not being a vet.
