Subject: Sick ferret-Stomach ulcers?

I'm very concerned about a little ferret I rescued last Monday. I've had ferrets for about 7 years now, but don't have alot of experiance with alot of health problems outside of cancer(my first one died from 3 different forms of cancer).

This little boy was less then 1/4 of what he should have weighed when I picked him up. He isn't eating very well and grinding his teeth. Yesterday(Saturday) he had black tarry stools and I took him to the vet. The vet just sent me home with Clavamox, that's not going to do much for the sticky black stools(which I assume means digested, right?). I've been looking up stomach ulcers in ferrets and those symptoms match very closely to what I'm noticing in him, especially given that his food was changed frequently at his last home, he's had the stress of being moved to a new place, etc. Right now I'm feeding him Hills A/D diluted with water to make it soupy, and adding a little nutrical and some puppy milk replacer, is that a good diet for him right now? I'm very disappointed in the vet, should I take him to another vet? Or is the Clavamox really all he needs for the ulcers?
