When we have an individual who has reacted to more than one vaccine we stop vaccinating that individual because it is likely that some common component of vaccines is the trigger for that particular individual. The rest DO get vaccinated.

Some ferrets react to only one vaccine type. but a few do react to more than one.

In studies of colonies (_Biology and Diseases of the Ferret_ again) where MOST ferrets WERE vaccinated then canine distemper was introduced the infection rate of the UNvaccinated ferrets was not 100%. Having others be able to fight off the infection decreased the exposure risk for the unvaccinated ferrets so having most ferrets vaccianted helped save the unvaccinated ones, too.
