Hi, Catharine and everyone else,
We did the meds and diet only thing for Lady Ayeka for
three years. In the end she had to have surgery
anyway. I wish I could tell you how much the surgery
helped or didn't but that's when her lymphoma was
discovered and that is what killed her six months
later.
Our other three with insulinoma had surgeries at the
ages of three, seven and a half, and eight
respectively. The surgery worked wonders for all of
them and on the three year old it was curative. He
never had symptoms or needed meds again. I'm a
believer when it comes to insulinoma surgery.
$2500? I paid a quarter of that per surgery. Perhaps
you can get a good recommendation on a much less
expensive vet that does a good job on insulinoma
surgeries.
All the best,
Caity and the fantastic five
