My ferret's name is Oscar and he is three and a half years old. On Tuesday, May 10th at his weekly bath I noticed that he had lost a substancial bit of weight. I informed everyone in my household to keep a close watch over his behavior as well as his stool just in case. His attitude had not changed so I wasn't too worried.
On Friday, May 13th I picked Oscar up and was frightened to notice that he had lost even more weight. His eyes looked sunkin in, and I could tell he was dehydrated. I gave him some water from a glass and he immeadeatly vomited it back up. The same thing occured with some ferritive so I opted not to try and give him duck soup, and instead took him to the vet first thing in the morning. I suspected some sort of blockage as did my vet. She gave Oscar fluids, and later Saturday afternoon did an exploratory surgery. She found nothing but seemingly healthy organs and a somewhat enlarged node in his stomach. Since it was over the weekend his bloodwork has just gone out today, so no answers there yet.
It is now Monday afternoon. Oscar is still hanging in there, but who knows for how long. He simply is not able to eat without vomiting.
I'm so worried. Would anyone happen to have any advice. |Please help. Thanks.. ~Mandi
