Subject: Ferret after adrenal surgery

My ferret, Bailey, had his left adrenal gland removed a week ago. He is recovering nicely. This morning I noticed that his fur, instead of being course and dry feeling like before the surgery, is now smooth and soft. Is it my imagination or can his fur change that fast after surgery?
