Subject: Hypoglycemic & Ferretvite?

Hi all,

Bianca is mildly hypoglycemic according to the blood tests.

Last year I took her to the emergency vet for excessive drooling. She seemed
fine after the hour and a half wait. Took her to regular vet, still looked
fine.

A month or so ago she had problems with walking and excessive drooling. Took
to emergency vet, said she was just nauseated. I knew better. She was in not
so good of shape for almost a full day with problems walking and
disorientation. Took to regular vet, did blood tests and found out she was hypoglycemic. (we
did notice enlarged glands, and the armpit ones somewhat later - though I
believe this has been normal since she was a kit.)

Both times she had been eating Ferretvite on a regular basis. I still have
her on it as per vet's request saying that would help.

(early Sat. am) She just had another episode (excessive drooling and problems
walking). It had been going on for some time before I awoke - she had wet
spots on her from drooling. She had tried to wake me earlier, but I did not
respond well to digging in my leg, thinking she wanted something else.

I gave her Ferretvite and she seems to be doing a bit better, but then it has
been probably several hours. She is laying under the covers right now.

What are your thoughts?
Is the Ferretvite exacerbating the problem?
What is the best way to control this?

Kathy.
