It's entirely possible. There was a rescue I did from
a pet store that closed down. A little half starved
kit was trying to eat the wood shavings used as
bedding. Anyway, we placed him in a good home. A few
months later he was four pounds of very pudgy, big
ferret and still not fully grown.

We had a ferret named Kodo, a rescue we adopted, who
had a winter weight of about four and a half pounds.
He weighed in at the vet over two kilos on many
occasions. He tended to be heavy and was just plain
big in every dimension--extra long, extra high, etc...
He was also playful and bouncy and very active. He
was a dark chocolate ferret who gained the nickname
Big Bear.

How big is possible? Up to about five pounds.

All the best,
Caity and the fantastic five
