Subject: nose issues?

I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem?
My (aprox 7-8 yr old) ferret, Ellie has had what
sounds like a stuffy nose for over a month. No
discharge, no sneezing until last night. When she
yawns it sounds funny and now she is coughing a
little? Vet's guess is allergies? She is on amoxi.
Up until last Saturday she was showing no other signs
of something being wrong besides her stuffy nose, but
after the vet visit she has loose stools and now will
only eat wet food. That's why we started the
antibiotic. The last two days she seems worse. The
vets in the area are not knowledgable enough. We
always end up getting better info online. She has been
receiving Lupron shots for years. She had left
adrenal removed years ago. She is active, but not
getting better? Should I try Benadryl? what is the
dose? I used benadryl years ago on another ferret and
she freaked out, her fur puffed up and she did not
respond well and ended up with a bleeding ulcer! How
about neosonepheran(sp?) for infants? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me directly.
Thanks,
