Couple of thoughts... sometimes putting a few drops of
rubbing alcohol by the head of the tick will get it to
let go. This shouldn't cause any problems to your
ferrets, but do be careful not to get it in their
eyes.

Also, as soon as possible, take out all of their
bedding, hammocks, cubes, any fabric at all that they
have access to. Wash it in the hottest water
possible, because otherwise you may be facing this
again shortly from "seed ticks" which hide in the
bedding (they're hard to see, about the size of the
head of a pin).
