I can't say I know if it's healthy or not, but one of my boys is a big time food digger and slings food clean out of the cage in the middle of the night---which my dogs promptly 'help' clean up. They haven't suffered any from it, except maybe getting fatter.

I would think ferret food is higher in fat than dog food, though I'm not certain about cat food. But, some people feed their ferrets premium cat food so I guess this would be okay.

I'm not a vet---this is just my opinion.

I feed my ferret "totally ferret" which is left out for him when he is out of his cage - which is really most of the time. my cat who is almost 2 years old JUST started helping himself to the ferret food.

1) is this healthy for him?
2) how would I get him to stop if not?
3) he is overweight - would this food cause him to get heavier?

THANKS!!!
