Deb,

> Has anyone had a fert with one?? If so, what were diagnosis, treatment

I have not personally had a ferret with one, but my vet had a client
with one, and it was successfully removed and confirmed to have been a
thymoma. She says, "We diagnosed it tentatively on ultrasound and
fine needle aspiration of the mass. The other MAJOR differential, of
course is mediastinal lymph node lymphoma or thymic lymphoma (lymphoma
in the thymus)." They successfully removed it from a seven year old
ferret, and he's doing GREAT. Recovered from the thoracotomy really
well. I say "they" because my vet worked with a board-certified
surgeon on this case and he did the cutting - it is a surgery that is
not for the faint of heart!

I have my vet's permission to forward her contact info along to you,
so that your vet can contact her if s/he wishes. I'll send that
privately.

Best wishes,
-Pam S.
