Just a quick note: I don't know how the youngest ticks are in our own area (North Central NJ) this year but after two days' human walks wound up bringing in several adult ticks we will be getting some Frontline during a vet appointment tomorrow, partly because of what Steve saw today. Due to the several adult ticks which came in on clothing he checked grasses near sidewalks here and said that he has only once before seen more questing ticks, so we figure it may be a high tick count year.

QUESTION: Do any of the tick deterrents to put on human clothing pose risks to ferrets? Which are safe or safest? The walking path is also being changed to minimize exposure.

I am sure there are other here in our general region, so realize that like us your area may be having a lot of ticks and consider serious prevention.
