I found out yesterday that gertrude,my oldest ferret, has adrenal disease. She is only 1 1/2 years old. The only sympton she shows is a swollen vulva, no hair loss. I am torn between surgery and the new melatonin injections. I am hestitant to do the surgery since i lost a ferret during surgery. Then again i am hesitant to do the injections just because the procedure is so new. In fact, my veterinarian has never done it before. Can anyone give me advice on the injections or better yet has anyone been through it?
