Hi
We have had several done. In fact one of my babies is due for his third one. The vet told me it is exactly like micro-chipping an animal. Same size needle etc. We give ours some ferretone to distract them and it only takes a few seconds.
Hope that helps. They have worked well for us.
Lynne

I found out yesterday that gertrude,my oldest ferret, has adrenal disease. She is only 1 1/2 years old. The only sympton she shows is a swollen vulva, no hair loss. I am torn between surgery and the new melatonin injections. I am hestitant to do the surgery since i lost a ferret during surgery. Then again i am hesitant to do the injections just because the procedure is so new. In fact, my veterinarian has never done it before. Can anyone give me advice on the injections or better yet has anyone been through it?
thanks,
jen
