I'm not comfortable with using a needle, not for something like heartworm
preventative. I'd rather go an uninvasive route, like Revolution. But I know there's a
liquid because the basset hound rescue folks here locally use that for their dogs.

I was under the impression that the only injectable heartworm preventative was taken
off the market for a while. We used to get that for the dogs until it became
unavailable. Those injections gave protection for 6mos. I wasn't aware there was
another injectable... or is this the same one?

You can have your vet mix 0.3 ml of 1% Ivermectin for injection with 28
ml of propylene glycol. Once a month give your ferret 0.1 ml per pound
or 0.2 ml per kg (same thing). Put it in an amber eyedropper bottle and
mark it exires in 2 years. It cost me $6 a bottle, surely you can get it
for less than $10.
