Yesterday my ferret, Weasel, went to the vet for his Distemper and Rabies Vacc. He's about 3.5 months of age. The Vet took a stool sample and found hook worm eggs. Few questions, how common is this? Can it be contracted via food, as he is on a semi-natural diet? Any other precautions that I need to be aware of to him help NOT catch them again in the future?

Thanks in advance for any information you can supply me.

Lilith
