My ferret, Princess (about 5 or 6 years old), has suddenly stopped eating. Bit of background- she was diagnosed with insulinoma, had surgery last year (May 04) which was successful. Lately (past few months) I had noticed her back leg slip every once in awhile- not often, not even everyday, maybe she's just running too fast on the tile I thought... She's still active and playful.

I decided to take her into the vet last Thursday just to make sure. Her BG was 74. The vet said that was on the low side of normal and to keep an eye on her, have it checked again in a couple weeks.

Sunday she was active and playful, but never ate. Sunday night she still had not eaten and I could only get her to eat Ferretone. She ate a tiny bit during the night on her own. So far today (Monday 11pm) she has only eaten a tiny bit, pooped once (and one other tiny poop). She's sleep most of the day and is woobly.

I did not change her food, but I did open a new bag of food Sunday- same brand and flavor. It smells the same so I don't think it's bad.

Does anyone know what would make her suddenly stop eating? Could it be insulinmoa, or could she just be woobly from not eating? FYI- I will be taking her back to the vet.

Thank you,

Tara
