Subject: Liver failure? Need advice please...

Hi everyone. Some of you may remember my ferret Cody. He was pretty sick about a little over a month ago, and is getting sich again. He has yellow mucus diarrhea on Thurs, and a some yellow looking patches on his skin. He also had a weird little bruise on prepuce, and is swollen there. He is urinating ok, but it is orange-yellow colored. He is very stained on his belly from it. I spoke with his vetthat night, who said to start him on amoxi and kaolin-pectin for his diarrhea. The diarrhea got a little better over the weekend, tan colored and less mucousy. Took him in to the vet. DId bloodwork, but I haven't heard the results yet. Glucose was 82. Ran a urine today...slight bacteria, leukocytes, and lots of bilirubin. Took an x-ray, appeared normal. From what I have foudn thus far, it seems like Cody is in liver failure. I'll know more after the blood tests...
Cody is a very skinny, bony little guy, not eating or drinking well on his own, and hasn't been doing right for awhile now. If he is in liver failure, what can I do for him? I know there must be a reason for his liver failure, but can I know without surgery? I don't think he could handle surgery right now. I just want to help my little guy. I don't want him to suffer...
