We purchased the implants about a year ago for only 65 cents each for a pac=
kage of 100. We use them in our shelter ferrets and our shelter vets to st=
art giving them to other ferret customers.
The problem --- this same company (Melatek) is only selling the implants fo=
r the reduced rate to mink ranches only, and raising the rate to $8 per imp=
lant with the needle and syringe packet. We don't need the needle and syri=
nge, our vets supply these -- stainless steel needles and syringe that is u=
sed for microchips. =
These are the same implants, but they are taking advantage of the ferret co=
mmunity because they say they don't have as many ferret customers. =
