On Thursday i received a call from Animal Control saying a person turned in a ferret they found outside. It's been 90 or above since last Wednesday so I have no idea how the poor think survived.
I took her to my vet and they sub q'd her and found she had purple gums. It was late in the evening so we decided she was better off at home than at the clinic.
On Fridayshe went back to the clinic and is still there. Today test results indicate kidney failure. they are treating her (sorry, I'm getting this second has as I've been out of town since Friday morning) and while the vet is "guarded" she believe we may have caught her in time.
I've never dealt with this before and would welcome any input. I realize she's not my ferret and I can't adopt her (have one ferret who hates everyone outside of her own group) but several of us are willing to try and help her.
Thank you.
Connie
