We need more details. So many things can cause diarrhea and a fever. How old is Romeo? Is there a new addition to the ferret family or have you handled ferrets outside the home and then came home to handle Romeo? Things like that. ECE doesn't come out of thin air and there would have to be exposure to a carrier ferret. Been years since I had to deal with ECE, but I don't recall there being a fever associated with ECE.
