A range of things can cause swollen or crusty feet: from allergies (treatments available) to cutaneous lymphoma (treatments available) to two types of mites (treatments available and check into why the ferret was vulnerable in the first place), and on.

If it is canine distemper that is a death sentence, I'm afraid.

DO let the ferret vet who you wind up using (See the vet lists and any vet recommendations you receive.) know that another vet felt that Canine Distemper is possible. You don't want to risk exposing other ferrets or dogs in the waiting room if they have a separate way for you to enter.

Has this ferret been vaccinated? The full kit series if this is a kit? Boosters done at the right time if adult? Which vaccines?

Please, describe any symptoms in more detail.
