Your vet would probably be the best judge as to whether the spleen needs to come out or not or if there's something else going on that's the cause of the enlargement. There's enlarged and then there's HUGE. Just the fact that you can feel it doesn't make it a candidate for removal. I've felt enlarged spleens in most of my ferrets. Most did not have them taken out and did just fine.
