Hi Sukie,

Thanks for the clarification. I don't mean to be thick brained, I just get paranoid and need to be certain I am on the same page when it comes to my fuzzkids. ;)

Ok - Today I went and bought the "brown" Listerine. I have never heard nor know if Listerine contains meds?? I have the orange and the blue ones and know there is also the green colored ones. I was afraid the additives to the diff flavors may not be good for ferrets. As far as I can tell, the brown has no meds added to it. All it has on front label is LISTERINE Antiseptic (and other ad comments)...Active Ingredients: Thymol 0.064%, Eucalyptol 0.092%, Methyl Salicylate 0.060% and Menthol 0.042%. Also contains: Water, Alcohol 26.9%, Benzoic Acid, Poloxamer 407, Sodium Benzoate; and Caramel.

The reason I listed the ingredients is because since I have no medical training, I do not know if any of the above are considered medicines. I personally don't think they are, but feel safer listing so if they are, and if you know they are, you can let me know.

As for the renal failure, I would have never thought of that so I am thankful Alicia mentioned that to me. I know teeth can lead to a host of other problems because of going through the body's system. He pees alot, but I chalked it up to the Lasix as that is when that started.

Like I asked Alicia, is there a specific blood test to check for renal failure or would it show on a regular CBC?

Thank you both so very much!! I truly appreciate your help and apologize if I am being "anal" about knowing specifics...I just want to be sure I know what I am doing.

Regards
Melanie
