I am currently using a compounding pharmacy in Arizona for my Pred, so I will have my vet order the smallest amount we can. Hopefully I will have good results. I have been told there is a generic version; has anyone had any problems with the generic?
I am giving Prednisolone (with no sugar, dye, or alcohol) twice a day. I have been increasing the doses and checking BG. I will continue to increase the dosage, but it just doesn't seem to help for more than a week or so and then he is back down.
I am planning to give him well spaced-out sugary treats at the end. I think he should at least be feeling good for his last days. It will be a very tough decision I will have to make at the end. Hopefully with using diazoxide, I won't have to make this decision any time soon.
