Hi Michele,

I had a ferret with lymphoma for whom the end stage included the invasion of the
lymphoma into the bone marrow. I am not a vet, but from the research I have done
into lymphoma on my own, I think that if you are looking at lymphoma here, it
would probably be juvenile lymphoma due to her age and the quickness of the onset
of symptoms. I would suggest going back to your vets and asking them about the
possibility of lymphoma.

I had a fairly young ferret, 2 years 7 months, go downhill very quickly from
lymphoma, but with pediapred and high protein food (Oxbow Carnivore Care) he was
able to live fairly comfortably for another 4 months or so.

I am very sorry if this is what you are facing.

Regina

>Sunday I noticed a significant weight loss, lethargy, and a pale/anemic look in
my ferrets gums, ears & paws. She is only 1 1/2 years old. I know they are small
and can go downhill quickly, but this was within 24 hours. I took her to my vet
for blood work. Two different vets examined her and her lab work and said she has
a bone marrow problem. Her white blood count is extremely low. They said there
was nothing to do but keep her comfy and happy. It is now a week later, she is
still with me...I have been feeding her water and Ferretvite to supplument her
poor eating/drinking. She has little energy but still wants to play and move
around. Has anyone had a similar problem? I would do anything if I thought it
would help. Thanks, Michele
