This certainly works well and is relatively inexpensive. However, I also
recommend (and use on my own animals) Revolution, which in addition to heartworm,
controls fleas, ticks, ear mites, sarcoptic mange mites, and some intestinal
parasites. If your only concern is heartworm, the ivermectin mixture is
probably the way to go. If you are concerned about other parasites, I would use
Revolution.
