Subject: [ferrethealth] large patches on skin

Hi all,

Well, good news. Bianca's lymph nodes are not hard.

Bad news. Directly over the lymph nodes (left side over the shoulder and
under the armpit) are patches under the fur that look like huge scabs. I noticed
she had looked like she had been scratching the hard spots. The area had been
just slightly red and irritated, and the patches felt to be under the skin.

Now she just looks like she had giant scabs. Did whatever it was come to the
surface? And it smells kind of funny.

Her fur looked fine during all of this. Now that I soaked the spots, I can
tell it looks scabby.

She had been at the vet in her cage for two weeks prior. I noticed the
problems when I got home on the 15th The one above the should has been about the
same, but the one under the armpit got bad after I had been home.

When I took her to the vet a week ago Friday(?) she had hardly any problem
with the spot under the armpit. Now it is about the size of 1 1/2 thumb nails.
The one above the shoulder is about the size a thumb nail.

What is going on? Will it spread to the cats? Am I just delusional?

Kathy.
