I adopted a cat a couple years ago who had URI and all three of my fuzzies got it. Two of them became extremely ill with it and I almost lost them both. I got them on Amoxi and eventually (weeks later) they recovered, but it was a close call. My cat started showing symptoms of it again a few weeks ago and I got him on amoxi ASAP and it went away before the fuzzies picked it up, luckily. My suggestion would be to get them on the anti-biotics ASAP. I just waited too long to take them in.
