Your ferret will not need all of the tests I mentioned, obviously, but may well need several of them, depending on what is found by a vet who knows ferrets during a hands on exam.
Sara, if this is a treatable problem your ferret needs to see a knowledgeable vet in time, but there is no way to even know if it is treatable from the bit of info given. It might be, but waiting just reduces your ferret's chances.
I know this is painful and scary for you, but it something you need to risk because that's the only way to get the chance your ferret needs.
