The original symptom of not being able to use the front legs is non-standard.
Lethargy and the rear leg weakness are more standard for a range of illnesses, esp. insulinoma.
Insulinoma is certainly among the things that need to be tested for. The ferret needs rapid examination, testing, and care by a ferret knowledgeable vet.
