Hi, Sheryl, and everyone else,

Find someone to give you a ride and take Komay to an
experienced ferret vet. Nobody on this list can tell
you what is wrong, whether you are dealing with a
tumor or an enlarged spleen or something else.

Metronidazole (sp?) a/k/a flagyl is used for treating
digestive problems. All ferrets hate it. You can
draw some linatone or ferretone in a syringe with it
to make it slightly less nasty for Komay but that
won't stop any ferret from acting like you are
poisoning them if you give them metronidazole. The
good news is that it does work... but for a suspected
tumor? I've never heard of that.

There simply is no substitute for a good ferret vet
when dealing with something serious, which it sounds
like you are. Surely you can beg or cajole or plead
with one friend for a ride in a case like this.
Another possibility is to post where you live, Maybe
somebody on list can help you. I know that if you are
near where I am working this week (Pittsburgh, PA)
I'll find a way to help.

The ususal disclaimer applies: I am not a vet, nor do
I play one on TV.

Good luck to you and to Komay!

All the best,
Caity and the five traveling weasels
