Hi!!
I have a question about my three year old ferret Cocoa's tail chordoma. She's had it for about a year and it only grew for a few months, and over the past 8 plus months, has seized to grow any larger. It's about the size of a quarter now, and she hasn't shown ANY signs of pain because of it. She doesn't even chew on it, or really pay it any attention, she's still the crazy little fuzzbutt she's always been.
I brought her to the vet a while ago, and he said to take care of her tail, and watch it for cuts and oozing, but it should be ok. IF she showed any signs of pain, to get it removed. My problem is that I am a worrywart, and always worry if it's likely to be cancerous, and that not removing it could be hazardous to her health. Another big issue is cost, it would cost almost $400, and with my recent health issue's, and a ferret that requires expensive meds, I don't have a lot of funds.
>From what I've read online(which isn't too much, not a lot of up to date resources), there haven't been any cases of cancer due to tail chordoma's. I am just wondering if anyone in this group has had any experiences with chordoma's and could provide me with some information(hopefully positive).
I'd be very grateful to hear some feedback from anyone who can provide some,
Chrissy
