Hello Everyone,

I am the lucky guy who was allowed to take an abandoned ferret rescued by a
good friend of mine and foster her.

Tawny is her name and she has quite a story. People left her to be fed etc
by folks while they were away vacationing...yep, you guessed it right, the
folks "forgot" to feed her. Animal control got wind of this somehow and
picked her up and called my friend's rescue.

She was very emaciated but is gaining rapidly! Good thing! Any way I was
wondering as we don't have any history other that what I have told you, we
are at a loss to what her problem is. She has no hair except face, neck,
front legs and paws, and some splotches here and there. Funny thing is that
her hair has actually been growing back in; my vet has a hard time saying
100% that she is adrenal. He suggested possible self barberism as the fur is
gone only where she can reach and the fact that it is regrowing. I actually
saw her yesterday plucking hair out and eating it. I am wondering if maybe
she got so streesed and hungry that she resorted to this behavior?

I really don't know, I would like some feedback if possible.

Thanks!

John Connell
