I'm not a vet, just a long time ferret owner. Ferrets have a lymph node
under their armpit. Usually if the node has a problem it gets hard. They
also tend to accumilate fat around the lymp node. If it's soft and
squishy, it is probably a fat pad. You can ask your vet to take a needle
biopsey of it to set your mind at rest.
