There is a lot more Vitamin A toxicity then most think. The reason why there is not many reported case is because most vets do not know the symptom when they see it so 99% of the time it is misdiagnosis.

Old ferrets should not be given any forum of oil in their diet. As ferrets age their digestive tract does not function like it did when they were young. As they age they no longer can digest fats and oils. They need a diet of higher proteins, lower fat, no carbs.
