Ferrets can live for quite a long time (many years) w/ insulinoma, and have a good quality of life. There may be times when you'll need to adjust the amount of pred (remember, give it every 12 hours for best results)

Here's a bit about giving Karo during a seizure:
"Use materials such as honey or Karo syrup in small amounts ONLY TO BRING THEM OUT OF A HYPOGLYCEMIC state and then as soon as they are swallowing normally and more alert, give them a protein snack such as strained meat baby food or their softened normal food. The protein keeps the glucose from jumping up and down."

There are also all sorts of good links here: http://www.trifl.org/medical.shtml and on ferret central.

Good luck!

He just had surgery two months ago to remove his left adrenal gland and the vet checked his pancreas but didn't see anything unusual at the time. Besides surgery, is Prednisone the only other treatment for Insulinoma? My ferret Greta had that and, once she was diagnosed, she went downhill pretty quickly. How long can a ferret live comfortably once diagnosed?
