Why not? Podo had his right adrenal gland out (with
vena cava ligation) at age seven and a half. The only
thing different our vet did was extensive testing to
make sure there were no other problems (i.e.: a heart
condition) that would make the surgery risky for him
and he used sevoflourine (sp?) for the anaesthetic.
Podo recovered fully from that surgery. FWIW, Podo
had insulinoma surgery when he was eight. The result:
a rejuvenated, bouncy ferret. In the end lymphoma
did get Podo. He was almost 10 at the time.

If a ferret is otherwise strong and healthy seven is
NOT too old for adrenal surgery.
