We have encountered ferrets who had this like humans get acne, but also have had a few who had it as a first sign of adrenal problems. We provide a LOT of access to full darkness (not just dimness) at all times, though, and have had a low rate of adrenal disease in our family with most in ferrets who are over 5 years of age.
