My 5 yr old adrenal male has had an enlarged spleen for the last couple months. I have been keeping and eye on him, and monitoring him by ultrasound. The spleen looks fairly normal, besides evidence of hematopoiesis. The last couple days he has been going to the bathroom a lot more. A UA was done, which showed a slight chance of infection, but he has had a history of prostate problems and has been on propecia for over a year. He was started on sulfatrim a week ago just in case. Starting this morning he was "going to the bathroom" but nothing came out. An ultrasound was done, and his bladder was empty, so I don't think it is that he can't pee. I am worried his spleen is pushing on his bowels and making him feel like he has to poop. He doesn't appear to be in any discomfort. Just annoyed. Has anyone ever seen this before? What can I do for him? Is it time to consider removing the spleen? Thanks in advance...
