Apologies. I hadn't realized that others would not be able to see it. I quoted the critical Omega 3 portion and Dr. Murray explained about that and Omega 6. Dr. Scott Brown is located at the University of Georgia so it should be possible to request reprints of articles for treating vets on diet and kidney health in dogs and cats (as far as I know the work on ferrets is still lacking for the most part).

For those here who are veterinarians, or vet students, or whose vets are currently treating their ferrets for kidney disease
Doctor Brown's address to request a reprint for veterinary use is
Department of Physiology and Pharmacology
College of Veterinary Medicine
The University of Georgia
Athens, GA 30602

but if someone here has an immediate veterinary need for requesting reprints even faster there is more on his CV page at UGA.

It may alternatively be possible to find one of his other articles on the subject on line. It seems that this is a rapidly moving field, so newer works will be more useful as knowledge is refined and advice accordingly alters.
