Hi, Carol, and everyone else,

Our original vet in North Carolina felt that could be
a minor contributive factor but not a major one. He
felt issues like the small gene pool used by most U.S.
breeders and early spaying/neutering had a lot more to
do with it.

FWIW, Nyssa and Romana both had adrenal disease four
years ago. Both had their left gland removed. Both
are still here and neither had had any recurrence.
They were three when they had adrenal. My Pertwee
showed symptoms of what turned out to be adrenal
before he was a year old. Ker Avon had his left out
at age one and a half.

The point: early onset adrenal disease may not be
something we can prevent. Thankfully it is not a
death sentence and the little weasels can go on to
have full, happy, long lives.

All the best,
Caity and the fabulous five
