He has lost quite a bit of weight, tho, so I feed him duck soup in addition to his crunchies. However, he is still struggling with diarrhea. The duck soup recipe I use is Turkey baby food, Ferretvite, and Boost (protein drink). I am wondering if the Boost is contributing to the diarrhea because it has milk in it.

My question would be, why give any human protein supplement at all? There's usually nothing in these that a ferret needs. As far as I know, Boost is mostly water and sugar. I don't think there's any milk in it, but could be wrong on that point. I do know that the first three ingredients are water, corn syrup (sugar) and sugar (more sugar!). Not good.

I would stick with plain turkey or chicken baby food with nothing at all added, or A/D, if you need to supplement his kibble diet. He needs the high meat protein, but he doesn't need all the junk that's in Boost.

As to whether or not this is contributing to his diarrhea, I couldn't say.
