I work at the animal shelter and about a couple weeks ago I brought home two tiny
kittens we were bottle feeding. I had them about 10 days and even though they were in
a carrier and nowhere around our ferret Cuju, Cujo started grinding his teeth, became
lethargic, and vomiting. I started him on carafate about 20 to 30 minutes before each
feeding of baby food. That helped but the minute the kittens were adopted and Cujo
was absolutely "sure" that they were gone from the house, he began eating kibble
again along with his recipe and within 24 hrs. he was 100 percent better.
He still looks for the kittens occasionally but I truly believe that their being here
created way more stress for him than we ever thought imaginable. I truly believe that
ferrets are way more sensitive than most any other pet.
